Do you have a large initial backup and limited upload bandwidth?

No worries! we have an initial Data Seed loading option, whereby we send a drive or mini PC to your site to copy data and ship it back to us.

This is based on how much storage needs to be seed loaded

Why build another Cloud Storage platform - don't many already exist?

Yes many already do exist, but not all focus on privacy & security in fact very few Cloud Storage Services offer what we believe as crucial parts of the service offering. Many competitors like google drive make you and your data the product by scanning your data with AI for training or to sell your data to marketers.

Many commercial products are in fact Open Source based as having many eyes across code enables companies to benefit from the power of the Open Source community when the code is made available for others to use.

Open Source is the No# 1 way of getting your code checked and refined using the power of many. You'll find many commercial offerings from VMware, AWS and many others are all based on pre-existing Open Source projects.

Unfortunately not every Open Source project receives compensation for their contributions and are taken advantage of by corporate entities, this is a conversation for another time.

Isn't my data safer with a bigger provider?

Is it? - Some important questions to ask yourself.

How easy is it to get support from Microsoft, AWS or Google?
- If you are satisfied with the level of support don't change.
- If the Big 3 are this busy day-to-day and can't assist with daily support, ask yourself what it will be like when you have an emergency.
How quickly can you retrieve your data in the event of disaster?
- Microsoft, AWS & Google bandwidth throttle all data in/out of their services due to over subscribing/overselling available resources. If they allowed all of their clients to download/upload their data at the same time without throttling the network would come to a stand still.
- Throttling can be a good way to manage traffic when you have so many clients but it doesn't help clients when you need to upload or retrieve your data in an emergency.
We solve this issue by allowing the full bandwidth of your connection to upload/ download data, furthermore for those who don't have enough bandwidth to accomplish this we offer a seed loading service whereby we send out hardware to your site to get data in/out faster and freight it back to KISS. - more about this later.
